WHAT IS CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL?

Cedarwood essential oil is extracted from the wood, bark, leaves, and berries of the coniferous Cedarus deodora (cedar) tree. This cedar oil can be extracted via a number of techniques including steam distillation, cold pressing, and carbon dioxide distillation. But amongst all these, steam distillation has become the commonly used technique to extract the substance.

CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL BENEFITS

CEDAR OIL FOR SKIN

In skincare, Cedar oil has properties that can help assist in handling oily skin. Thanks to cedrane and thujopsene, your skin will surely look best as these elements work to alleviate skin redness, minimise the appearance of acne scars, and promote healthy-looking skin that is free of skin impurities. For topical application, add 2 to 3 drops of this oil with 5 teaspoons of your preferred carrier oil. Gently apply it to your skin and leave it for 20 minutes once or twice a week during your skincare routine.

CEDAR OIL FOR HAIR

Cedarwood essential oil is one of the leading oils for hair nourishment. Let Cedar oil do its work and make your hair its best-looking feature. The benefits of this nourishing oil for your hair are exceptional. Case in point: it can cleanse your scalp, helps the hair look thicker, removes loose dandruff flakes, and restores its beauty and sheen. For application, warm a few drops of the cedar oil on your fingers then gently massage into your scalp for vibrant, revitalised hair.

CEDAR OIL FOR SCENTS

Prized for its sweet, warm, and woody fragrance, cedarwood essential oil naturally works to deodorise indoor spaces. It is also known to provide insect repelling characteristics. The cedar oil can be used to drive mosquitoes, flies and other insects away when used with a vapouriser or diffuser. For best results, blend this with bergamot, cinnamon, clary sage, lavender, sandalwood, and vetiver essential oil.

For a soothing diffuser blend, mix 6 drops of lavender essential oil with 8 drops of cedarwood essential oil in a 2 ml glass bottle. Shake it until it is thoroughly mixed. When adding essential oils to your diffuser, we suggest you to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to prevent complications. For a simpler aromatherapy session, sprinkle a small amount of cedar oil on a towel and place it under your pillow while you rest.

I ordered cedarwood EO to use in a special blend and it was perfect. I have since used it in other blends and it is often the note that ties it all together. Beautiful quality and great value.
